Today, some of our night-time economy businesses and our security team attended 'Stop The Bleed' training facilitated by the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. This advanced first aid course trains them to deal with stab wounds and major bleeding using bleed kits. This year's Mela Festival will be taking place in Hoglands Park on Saturday 13 July. Thursday 6 June marks the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings and a series of major commemorations are expected to take place across the UK and in France. Southampton played a central role in preparations for the D-Day landings, with millions of British and American troops based around Southampton Water. The city will be hosting several events to mark this historical anniversary including a commemorative service and military parade, D-Day tours and talks, in addition to other activities.
